The Meat & Wine Co
A gilded fusion of African heritage and Australian opulence at The Meat & Wine Co. Sydney CBD
Designed by the team at COOOP Design Studio, the Castlereagh Street store seamlessly amalgamates the opulence of the Australian gold rush era with the diverse tapestry of African culture, crafting an extraordinary dining experience that strikes a perfect balance between sophistication and familiarity.
In the bar area, a refined black color palette takes center stage, paying tribute to the vibrancy of Africa and its rich cultural heritage. The use of premium materials such as marble, gold, velvet, and leather complements the restaurant's well-established reputation for contemporary elegance and groundbreaking innovation.
This exciting restaurant design project utilised a collection of Warwick Fabrics to complement the custom furniture and booth seating in the Dining space consisting of Lovely Coal and Cinnamon. They also feature Lovely as a velvet ribbed wall in the Private dining rooms.
At the core of this gilded inspiration lies the Golden Rhinoceros of Mapungubwe, an awe-inspiring wooden sculpture adorned with delicate sheets of gold. Originating from the medieval Kingdom of Mapungubwe in South Africa, this symbol encapsulates the fusion of physical strength and prosperity inherent to the region.
